School is out for my kids and summer is finally here!! I will be doing lots of activities and running around with them and carrying a large purse is just to hard when mommy needs her hands to manage the kids and everything else. Today, while shopping at Marshall's I noticed this shoulder wallet ($9.99), I have never seen anything like this before ...and even though its not the most fashionable thing in the world its exactly what I need in my life for the summer time.

Everything I need fits in this shoulder wallet. My phone which is bulky (T-mobile Motorola Cliq) fits just fine with lots more room to put some chap stick and some sunscreen or a snack.

Heavy Duty concealer is an understatement when it comes to this little tube..I would not suggest using it under your eyes to cover dark spots ,because the formula is really drying and thick ,but for blemishes and scars this is by far the best thing I have used for cover up.

Don't these little boxes look like the benefit blushes? Don't let the cute packaging fool you.

These blushes are way to chalky and do not blend well.

All of these little concealers are really creamy and light.

Have you tried any of the Hard Candy cosmetics? Thoughts?

I think I caught the Bieber Fever...I saw the movie last week (highly recommend) and now, I'm buying his nail polish collection.

Bieber, who started a line of polishes with Nicole by OPI, has sold one million bottles of the stuff since mid-December. The "One Less Lonely Girl" collection raises awareness of Pencils of Promise, a nonprofit Bieber supports that aims to build schools around the world.

The color OMB! is absolutely gorgeous! I feel like I'm wearing a pair of Dorothy's ruby red slippers on my fingers. The color looks metallic with lots of orange, red glitter.
"Step to the beat of my heart" is just a fun confetti, glittery nail polish that my daughter wanted..I couldn't resist.

I bought the nail polishes at Wal-Greens for $7.99 -"My Lifesaver" minty green is the next on my list.

I was at Costco a couple of weeks ago and could not believe they had the Frederic Fekkai shampoo and conditioner sets (with a mini bottle of the glossing cream) for only $29.99!!!! What a deal! I picked up a few sets..since it is the S&C that I normally use. The shampoo alone is usually the cost of the set alone so you are getting an incredible deal.

They had the "glossing set" (green bottle) and the "salon technician color care" (pink bottle) set.

Check out your local Costco to see if they carry the Fakkai S&C sets.

Heres a yummy and healthy recipe that can help you get rid of all that left over turkey.

I usually use chicken since we don't eat pork but just substitute the pork or chicken with your turkey! Its very easy and so incredibly good!!!

Roasted Green Chile Stew

Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound boneless pork shoulder, cubed (JUST USE TURKEY INSTEAD)
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried Mexican oregano
2 pounds roasted Anaheim or New Mexico chiles
4 serrano chile peppers, diced
1 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
3 roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped
1 (14.5 ounce) can vegetable broth
salt to taste

Directions

Heat the olive oil in a Dutch oven or heavy saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the cubed pork, garlic, onion, cumin and oregano. Cook and stir until pork is browned.
Cook and stir for a few more minutes, then pour in the vegetable broth. Reduce the heat to low, and simmer for about 30 minutes.
Add the potato to the stew, and simmer for about 45 minutes. You can roast your chilies during this time, peel, seed chop and add to the stew along with the serrano peppers. If the stew becomes too dry, add a little water. When the potatoes are soft and the pork is tender, add the tomatoes. Cook for about 10 minutes, then remove from the heat and serve.

If roasted chiles are not available you will need to roast them yourself. A grill works best. Roast Anaheim or New Mexico chiles on grill till they are black on all sides. Place in a plastic bag in the freezer for ten minutes. This will make it easier to peel them. Rub the blackened peel off and rinse clean, then cut in half lengthwise, seed and chop.

I'm so thankful for this great nation that has given my family the opportunity to raise our families in freedom.

My beautiful,healthy kids that make me smile each and everyday. They make me so proud and I love them so much!

My husbands wonderful job that brought us to his home Island of Maui and pays him well enough for me to go to school and stay at home with my kids (its not always fun being a stay at home mom- but I know I wont ever regret these moments I get to spend with my kids..They grow way to fast)

My husband- he works so hard yet helps out so much with the housework and kids and never complains!

My Wonderful family and friends- They are always supportive and loving

Our 5 yr. old dog ( mini full breed Yorkshire terrier) we love her with all our hearts. She is like another child to us and has been on trips and flown back and forth to the mainland. *She's a bit spoiled*.

I was introduced to the steamer when I was working for a high end retailer (St. John). Steaming clothes was actually one of my favorite parts of the job....I would steam the clothes and dress up the mannequins for in store displays and windows.

What I love:

-The steam cuts out ironing time

-Produces, clean professional results

-Can be used on any kind of fabric

-You wont melt your clothing

-No ironing board needed

-Can steam out the most annoying wrinkle on detailed clothing

I bought my steamer at Costco for $40 dollars (Its exactly the same one as pictured above) and it works just as well as the industrial one that I used to use at work....I actually like my little cheap one because its easy to store and easy to replace if anything were to go wrong.

So tell me are you still using an Iron? And what are your thoughts on steamers?

Since my hard working huband had the day off today we went on a relaxing cruise around Maui. I've lived on Maui for 2.5 years now and I still love being a tourist..on my own Island.

The day would not be complete without hitting up Costco lol!

Its been such a nice relaxing day...We walked outside and watched the sun go down.

Chocolate Peanut-Butter No Bake Cookies

Do not read any further if you are a health nut! lol! :)

I have an unhealthy habit for clothes, ccosmetics and COOKIES (home-made only)!!!

Every once in a DECADE its good to indulge in some memory cookies that my sister use to make for me when I was a little girl.

(I had to double the ingredients because I made some for the husbands co-workers)

2 cups sugar

4 tablespoons cocoa (i use a bag of ch. chips instead)

1 stick butter

1/2 cup milk

1 cup peanut butter

1 tablespoon vanilla

3 cups oatmeal

Waxed paper

In a heavy saucepan bring to a boil, the sugar, cocoa, butter and milk. ^

Let it boil for 1 minute!

Then add peanut butter, vanilla

Add in Oats
Stir it in till all the oats are coated in yummy carb goodness!

On a sheet of waxed paper, drop mixture by the teaspoonfuls or tablespoons!

Let them Cool for about a half an hour and ENJOY!

My birthday is still not for another month. I always give the husband a month advance of what I want because he likes being prepared for the damage!!! Just kidding! I'm not really that bad but when it comes to a little self appreciation I am guilt free because I know I deserve it.

I saw this beautiful MK Rose Gold watch just staring at me..and once I tried it on, I was completely SOLD!

The crystals are a bit tacky-This I know- but I like it!! The flash is making it look a little too busy but in person its just gorgeous!

My heart was so set on the MK Gold watch but my husband thought it looked cheap..it was very BOLD yellowish gold..and I could not pull it off with my complexion. The hunt for a gold watch continues *sigh*.

I like BIG accessories (I am 5'9)- This watch is NOT over sized but it is still a lot larger than my other MK watch. Big, chunky accessories suite me better.

Last years birthday gift with this years birthday gift.

THE PRICE- Its $5 dollars!!! Not such a large investment and you don't have to worry about it breaking, charging or needing refilling.

CONTROL- I like being able to dictate the pressure and speed. Sometimes I need a deep cleaning sometimes just a quick scrub. I have not had any problems with my skin feeling red or raw after use.

CONVENIENT- To clean, store and buy again. *I bought 3- a girl needs her back ups*

LONGEVITY- $5 and if used right it can last up to a year. I would NOT suggest using it up to a year though. The brush is soft yet sturdy.

IT WORKS- The dry areas on my skin have been fully exfoliated and moisturized clean (my husband mentioned my face looks like its glowing..I was not wearing an ounce of make up. IT WORKS)

HATES??

WHAT?- Whats there to hate?

This brush has definitely enhanced my nightly face routine!

**Make sure to clean it well after use- run it under warm/hot water and then towel dry it and let it hang upside down. You don't want water sitting in your brush collecting bacteria.

***I do not own the Clarisonic so I cant compare the two...I will NEVER purchase one either after using this brush. MARK MY WORDS!

DATE NIGHT! MAUI CELEBRITY SERIES

The husband and I are starting this new thing were we go on a "real" date at least once a month. Instead, of doing our regular dinner date we are going to start enjoying the concerts, festivals and other entertainment that Maui has to offer. Going on a date is not the easiest thing to do sometimes, because after a long full weekday of working, cooking, cleaning and going to school and being a parent of 3...Staying at home just seems easier and more convenient. I'm sure I'm not the only one who knows how this feels. As much as him and I love being a parent...We also love being husband and wife.

Anyhow, We started our "real date" kick off with some laughs and went and saw Rob Schneider live. Besides being a big time comedian on the big screen- Rob, no doubt was chosen for his strength of his material and delivery . His Hawaiian accents and jokes were spot on and had the audience roaring (Shoootz Brah). 1 hour and 30 minutes of pure belly ache laughter without being vulgar and disgusting. There were a few sexual references and and some cursing but not a overwhelming amount and nothing to be offended by. If you have the chance to see Rob Schneider do stand up I definitely would recommend checking him out..You wont regret it.

Which one delivered?

At one point I really enjoyed every single one of these tubes, jars, compacts and palettes of concealer. I tried them all...Either one was way too cakey or to light and then we had the ones that just didn't work....In the end, I found the one that concealed my dirty little dark (circle) secrets

Bobbi Brown concealer + Warm Beige = LOVE

Consistency- The consistency is so smooth which is odd because its in a compact. You would think it would dry out or harden over time ,but It doesn't...It stays consistent all the way to the bottom of the pan.

Brush or Fingertips- I always suggest that you use your fingertips when applying concealer. Even though its already smooth you really want to be extra careful when you applying something like concealer everyday. Don't be rough with tugging and rubbing..Using your fingertips gives you control and not only that, the heat from your fingers makes the concealer melt a little making it easy to pat and glide on even more. Crease no more!

Application- I use the Triangle method. Conceals dark circles, highlights upper part of the cheeks and contours the bridge of your nose. Need I say more?

Setting- There is conflicting views on whats the right way to set your concealer. I don't think there is any wrong way but I found my concealer last longer when I apply my concealer then set it with BM Mineral foundation.

Thoughts on the other concealers mentioned/pictured:

VS Pro- Very drying and does not apply smooth. Concealer in the palette dries out quick.

Lancome- was smooth but looked cakey after application

Benefit Erase Paste- out of all of them I was disappointed in this one the most because I had heard so many good things and it seems more like a corrector then a concealer. Had no staying power and the coverage was nothing special.

Jane Aredale- very thick and cakey. Dries out quick in jar

Amazing cosmetics- it would of been a tie if I hadn't had a reaction to it. I used it for 3 weeks then all of sudden had a itchy reaction to it. It covers very well but the lasting power is not as good as the Bobbi Brown.

My husband said that one of the reasons he married me is because of my skin . Without tooting my own horn..I have to admit..I have been blessed with beautiful skin (must be that Mexican/Irish gene combo) but besides genetics ....I really think the fountain of youth is olive oil. I've been using Olive oil salt scrubs and lotions and my skin looks and feels even more incredible than before.

As you can see (from the picture and price tag) you don't need to use crazy expensive products to maintain healthy radiant skin..Out of all places I bought this olive oil scrub at Ross but trying to find it again ..will be a hit or miss. :(

Olive Tree /Olive Butter is just pure love. My skin thanks me every time I lather it up with this lotion.

Olive Oil hand soap that cleans and moisturizes. (love the packaging)

Olive oil has many more uses outside of the frying pan...Every 6 months or so I put (whole foods organic) olive oil all over my hair and then wrap it up in a wet warm towel for 1 hour -...INSTANT HAIR LIFT.

Olives are a great snack too! I can eat them right out of the jar...Put them in a drink...and best of all its my favorite pizza topping..Yum! :)

Traveling Must Haves- Carry on edition

So much Stress and excitement when planning a trip (My destination is classified hehe!). What do I bring? What did I forget? I always like to travel like a pro...It must be the mom in me....My purse /carry on bag is a clone of the Mary Poppins bag-Its a bottomless pit of entertainment and solutions. I carry way to much but I always rather be safe then sorry...

WHAT TO WEAR:

The Carry on is the large Gucci Sukey- lots of space and easy to carry.

What to wear- I like to wear a sweat suit (matching hoodie and sweats) when traveling...(shorts and dresses/skirts are a complete no no! never know who sweat on the seat before you .I've heard to many traveling horror stories.) I don't usually wear jeans because if I'm on a flight too long..I sometimes get bloated <---- ugly truth about flying. I'll be wearing a BCBG sweat suit that is comfy but full of bling so I can look cute and girly when I land to my destination to meet up with my family/friends.

Shoes- I'll be wearing my coach sport velcro shoes--So easy to take off an and easy to put back on.

Traveling Hair do- Usually on long flights I like to put my hair in a long french braid but this time I'll straighten it and put it in a sleek pony tail

CARRY ON:

Boarding passes- duh! but I have lost my flight info before so its really no laughing matter...or maybe it is. ha!

Wallet/coin purse/cash- I like using cash/coins instead of my ATM/debit card.

chap stick/lip gloss/Make up bag- My lips get so dry when fly..Maybe nerves? Maybe the recycled air? I use a little blush and eyeliner so I'm not a complete mess when walking off the plane to my destination.

Comb- My hair is a complete mess after 9 hours of flying

hand sanitizer/wet wipes/lotion

Gum/hard candy- Ear popping goodies

Glasses /sunglasses- Glasses for reading/ Sunglasses for glare if you're flying daytime

Book/magazine- A classy book and a trashy magazine

Technology (Phone, laptop, camera, headphones,etc)- multipurpose phone with music and games

Pashmina and Neck Pillow - I'll be using my wrap as a blanket to go with my pillow

Notebook/Pen- When I have time on my hands I like jotting ideas, my thoughts or goals.

I've had this book - The Goddess Guide- for many years now (as you can see from the pictures). Its an amazing book filled with so many informative beauty tips and tales. The author Gisele Scanlon basically goes on beauty adventures to seek the best of the best of cities, products, spas and gives you insight on where to go and who to see. The illustrations in this book are like a collage of pictures and souvenirs that she picked up on the way...You almost feel like your reading her own personal journal.

275 pages of beautiful illustrations and information.

I've put this book into good use... All the lettering has rubbed off of it.

This book also makes a great gift for any occasion.

As much as I love my leather handbags ...I definitely don't want my skin looking like one.

As I get WISER I've been really into taking care of my skin. So far my genes have been very helpful in maintaining my glow, clear skin, but genetics can only do so much.

My nightly face routine used to consist of dove soap or cetaphil and dove moisturizer. Over the past year I don't know if it was the Maui sun or just my eyes or my weakness to products (hehe!) that got me more interested in a big girl routine. So, what I've been using for the past 7-8 months is.

EL Perfectly Clean-This product is a foaming cleanser and just a small amount with some water for a nice refreshing cleanse.

Estee Lauder- Gentle Eye Make up Remover- I love this stuff. So easy on the eyes and a little goes a long way. Make sure to be gentle around your eyes-No pulling or tugging.

EL Advanced Night Repair- This little bottle of serum is like an 8 glasses of water for your skin; leaves it feeling very hydrating. (sorry my bottle is so dirty)

EL-Eye recovery complex- I really don't need this product, but when I do use it at night..I dab only a small amount around my eyes and I pat it very gently until its all dry. Over using products around such a sensitive area will cause those little white bumps (Milia) so don't over use any brand of eye product.

After all that I put on my face cream

EL DayWear plus- This cream is so thick but spreads like butter when its on the skin. I apply a small amount all around my face and neck. I really like a thick cream it just seems like it takes time to melt into your skin. It smells just like cucumber so its healthy little snack for the face.

When I have a break out on my skin - I apply some cheap vitamin E oil which me get back to normal and prevent scarring.

I'm not a dermatologist, but I am an expert when it comes to my skin and what works for me. I have normal/combination skin and these products have been really helpful in maintaining my skin.

NARS Botan Kabuki Brush

Beauuuuuty... beauty... beauty.. beauty.. rock`n everywhere- rock' n everywhere...I found you miss new kabuki! Hehe! (In the same tune as Bubba sparxx -Miss New Booty)

I've actually had this brush for awhile now so its not so new anymore ,but it works just as good as it did when I first bought it. This is definitely an investment piece ( $75) ,but I can tell you it does pay off in the end.

Its much larger then most kabuki brushes- This is a good and bad thing. I love that its large simply because I have a better grip on the handle and it helps when I'm in rush distributing product evenly on my face. The only bad part about the size is that you cant just throw it in your cosmetic bag or purse. ;/

Texture- Its very soft and sturdy. Overall this huge brush looks intimidating ,but it is so soft on the face.

Cleaning- make sure to clean it very, very well before using it. I used the MAC brush cleaner then doused it in water and dyed came off the hair (which is badger hair). Its normal for the dye to come off you just don't want it coming off on your face.

Shedding- I know they usually tell you to be very gentle when cleaning your brushes , but i'm usually not. It has shed a little- while in the process of cleaning it, but other then that I have not had any problems.

I just want to throw it out there that Oprah put this brush in her "Favorite Things Episode " and Yeah, Need I say more? lol!

Music used to be my life (until I started a family) It still holds a very special place in my heart. Listening to music always brings up certain emotions and memories. I love reminiscing and thinking about those good old days or even the bad times (only because I got through them). One of my favorite pass times was dropping a mix CD in my player and listening to the music really loud and just singing at the top of my lungs .....ahhhhhh It was so much fun and therapeutic at the same time.

There really isn't a certain type of music that I love more because I grew up with 6 older sisters with 6 different styles of music. I think looking up to all my sisters helped me be a well rounded music listener and lover.

I love Laura Mercier products and have heard so many great things about her tinted moisturizer. I haven't tried too many TMs so I can't really compare it anything else ,but here is my personal experience with the product.

- I like the packaging easy to store and throw in your bag
- Sheer coverage

DIS-LIKES

- Enlarged pores
- Even though constancy is lightweight it felt very heavy on my face.
- Oil free but left my face feeling oily (feels just like a sun tan lotion and applies like one too)
- Pricey
- Orange tint which is not flattering ( I was hoping for a more bronze,sun kissed tint)

Would I recommend this product? No ,but then again every face is different. If you do end up wanting to try this product be sure to purchase it from somewhere that accepts make up returns just in case.

Dennis started in the fragrance business after a career as a flight attendant became stale. He began working as a fragrance reseller at crafts-fares till it dawned on him that he had all the knowledge to make his own product line.

Dennis Bell and his girlfriend Linda Bergstrom definitely have their hearts and hands in their business. Linda provides her artistic talents and has created most of the beautiful art on the porcelain bottles. Dennis also crafts all the wooden displays in his workshop. They are clearly both very talented. I went on a short field trip to their farm where they grow all their own gardenias and tuberose as well as many other flowers and fruits. They end up bottling the flowers which adds a lei feel to the presentation.

I was able to sample all the fragrances and I really feel that they capture the Hawaiian - tropical exotic scent. Maui rain was my absolute favorite, I put a small amount on my wrist and late into the night I could still smell the scent. It just tells you how well these fragrances are made.

Being part of the Internet beauty community it's hard not to notice Sigma Makeup. The company has made it easy for beauty addicts to afford professional brushes/brush kits on a amateur budget. Any other review would compare Sigma brushes with M.A.C brushes because the identifying numbers match. I believe Sigma Makeup has worked hard and done a great job at building their reputation so this review will not compare them to M.A.C.

SS239 shading brush (Natural bristles)

This brush is very soft and dense and has a rounded out paddle shape that can be used for pressed or loose eye shadows and pigments. While using the SS239 (The SS stand for Sigma Shopping) I notice how easy it was to pick up product because the hairs on the brush are cut precisely in a nice layer that fits perfect for the eye.

When I first started using cosmetic brushes (no more sponges for me) I was confused on what brush was used for what, but I love the fact Sigma Makeup gives you a little booklet with a short and simple description guiding you through the use of each brush. Along with the pamphlet you get a how to take care of your brushes card so you can maintain them for a long usage (I have not had any shedding on my brush). By doing all of this I really think this speaks highly about their customer service making it easy for the customer to get questions answered without having to ask.

Sigma also has some really unique eye shadows on their site as well. I have the “you got silver” eyeshadow. The eye shadows themselves are detachable from the palette making it easy to mix and match your own sets when you're on the go. The color is a nice shimmering silver that applies on the eyes like a pigment. What you see is what you get as it stays true to the color, as you can see from the swatch.

Keep in mind I have only tried out the SS239 and the you got silver eyeshadow from Sigma..they do carry a fair amount of brushes and kits that I have yet to try ,but my first impressions with the company and products have been really positive.

Saint Collection-Saint Coral-- Saint coral lipstick should be a staple in every girls collection. It has a sheen which is half way between matte and glossy. It gives me an amazing color without being overly bright.

Sinner Collection- Berry Sinner- This lipstick is very Opaque and since it has a high content of shea butter it leaves your lips feeling light, smooth and very moisturized.

No need to worry about the spots on the lipsticks if they do appear.

15 minutes of fame pop art gloss- 6 minutes- love this lipgloss. Gorgeous just alone or on top of the Saint coral to give it an extra boost of shine.

I have been at war with my hair lately. I'm not sure if it's the humidity or the season that is making it so stubborn but sometimes I think it has a mind of its own. I remember the good old hair days when I would brush out my hair after a shower and let it air dry. Now its seems I'm on a completely new hair routine. These are my girly power tools that I use to maintain my hair.

Shampoo/Conditioner
I think I have used every drugstore brand of S/C and the only one that ever really worked for me was the Revlon Outrageous. Sadly they discontinued it and since then I have been on a speed date trying out different Shampoo/ Conditioners. I'm even slowly working my way through the expensive stuff and I must say the brand that I have liked the best has been Frederic Fekkai. Unfortunately it's not practical because of the price, $60 dollars every three weeks. Needless to say I'm still on the hunt.

Hair products
The products I use to hold, sleek, and protect my hair depends on the style I am going for on any given day.

Blow dryer

I blow dry my hair at most twice a week unless I'm in a major rush. The blow dryer I use is the Infiniti by Conair. I love how it has a retractable cord which makes it so nice when storing it away.

Straightener
I got this GHD straightener as a birthday gift about 4 months ago and I use it almost everyday. It does not damage my hair and can also be used as a curling iron. GHD is the number one hair tool out there and it has the reviews to back the reputation. The only down side to this tool that it is a pricey investment ($200-$280) be sure you buy it from a reputable reseller or from the GHD site itself because it is highly replicated. (I purchased mine from Sephora).

Hot Curls
I really do love using hot curlers, which I guess is a little old fashion. Something about putting curlers in my hair while I go about my business just reminds me of my mom getting ready for church on Sunday mornings. Conair hot curlers are very easy to use and always gives me long sexy loose curls.

Julie Hewett Cosmetics Review

Julie Hewett is a pioneer make up artist who has 20 years of expierence under her brush belt. She has worked with many award winning actresses and her cosmetic brand has been featured in tons of well known beauty magazines.

Nude Noir- is pinky/brownish nude with a light shimmer. It's very classy and if you didn't know any better with all the attention it brings to your lips you would think it was a lipgloss. (It's also Paraben free)

Nude Noir lip pencil- outlines my lips just a tint higher than its natural color. This lipliner is a casual color that can be worn on a daily basis.

Femme Noir- is a classic pin up girl red. It looks amazing on and if you want to leave your mark this is the lipstick to leave your kissable evidence. *Muah*

Cheekie (cheek and lip shine in the color Jami) and brush- I love the fact that this blush is in a jar. The brush fits in it perfect with lots of room to swirl it around and pick up product to build and blend. The color Jami left a nice rosey flush tint on my cheeks that looked very natural and youthful. This product can also be used as a lip shine. The Cheekie would be great for traveling because of its size and multi use.
Chubby Cheekie Brush is very dense and stalky so it's easy control when applying blush - "perfect brush for the perfect flush" I would have to agree :).

It's really easy to see that Julie Hewlett used her expertise when creating this cosmetic line. Ease of use and convenience of the product makes me feel she definitely had the consumer in mind. My favorite product was definitely the Cheeky and Chubby brush as its such a unique and exceptional duo.

Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain Review

I'm a straight up beauty junkie and thats just how I roll. Whenever I'm at department store I immediately run to the Cosmetic area to see what catches my eye. I had been eying these CG Outlast lipstains for quite a while and they just keep coming out with new colors so I decided to pick up a few of them. They really resemble markers which allow precise application when outlining lips, and they taste like kool-aid powder (when I was younger I use to put kool-aid powder on my lips and pretend it was lipstick!)

#415- My favorite
This color is just a color darker then my regular natural lip color. I have natural pigmented lips and by using this color it evens it out making my lips look very sexy. RAWR!

Most lipstains can make your lips look dried out. So I typically use a chapstick after application. On the other hand using chap stick can jeopardize the long lasting effects. I noticed when I don't use any chap stick the stain only outlines my lips with no filling (which is not a cute look). Overall I really do like the lipstain colors. I would definitely keep buying them and trying them out little by little.

I had the opportunity to interview Angel Walker the Owner of Angels' Share.

Company name and meaning behind it?
Angels’ Share; The term Angels’Share refers to the amount of wine lost due to the aging process. It was once believed that the “Angels” took their share for watching diligently over the barrels.

When did you start?
September 2009

What inspired you to start Angels' Share?
I’ve always loved little wine charms and that sort. I’ve been making my own wine charms for several years. But what inspired me to start Angels’ Share, is I always find it difficult to travel with a wine bottle or two.
Every time I go to a party, I usually take 2 bottles of wine with me. I hate laying them on the floor of my car, they get dirty and roll around, but that’s what I would do. Then I would spend 5 minutes cleaning them off before I went into the party. I looked online to see what I could find as far as fun wine bottle carriers. They all seemed to be about the same, same colors, same styles, no personality etc. So, I decided to make my own.

Products you carry?

Angels’ Share carries a variety of Products; Insulated wine totes, we have the single and the double and I am currently working on a four bottle tote. Hand cut glass wine charms, with so many different styles. If you can think of it, I can usually make a charm out of it. I do a lot of custom fun refrigerator magnets. I also create eco friendly re-usable shopping totes and I recently branched out to glass pendant necklaces; those seem to be very popular lately.

Where are your products manufactured?
My products are manufactured in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have a small studio in my home, where I do all my work. I try and buy local and/or made in the USA products. The glass that I make my wine charms out of is custom made from a lady in Kentucky. This particular size of glass that I use has been difficult for me to find.

Bestseller at Angels' Share?
I would say the best seller would be my wine charms. With the economy the way it is, my wine charms are affordable, they make a great gift and you don’t have to spend a lot of money. Average cost for a set of four Angels’ Share wine charms is $12, the charms come packaged in a cute little round tin. The next big seller has been my pendant necklaces, again with the economy these pendants are very affordable and make a great gift.

Your favorite item that you make?
That’s a difficult question. I think it just depends on my mood. The wine charms are fun to create, finding just the right image etc. I can get very creative. However, I love to sew and there is something very satisfying when I finish a tote bag. Creating something from complete scratch appeals to me and choosing the fabrics for my totes is always fun and seeing it all come together is awesome!

Surly Girly Cosmetics Review

Surly Girly cosmetics is fun and full of personality. On any given day you can find a perfect color to fit your personality thanks to the sassy titles. Surly is for your wild and more daring side, Girly is for your romantic prissy side. When you mix both collections you get an incredible balance.

There are two collections for lipsticks, first the Surly lipstick (black box). I have been using the lipstick Bruised - It's a beautiful plum color that I felt was very flattering as well as making my lips look well defined.

The other collection "Girly" I evaluated the color romance novel. Its a salmon pink color- A lot of thought was put into this name, typically when you look at a romance novel cover the women have sultry sexy lips. Comparing it to my Lady Gaga Mac lipstick I would favor Romance Novel hands down.

I also tried the lip gloss Whisper- Its a milky nude color that would look perfect with your natural lip. It's not sticky but coats your lips for a long lasting glaze.

GirlTalk is a champagne tan colored gloss that would look great on any skin tone. It has enough color to evenly make the lips look dressed up with out to much gloss.

The eye shadows are very true to color and are very smooth. Highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. The color Jester which is a metallic (green with reflects of gold).

The color Porn Star is gorgeous matte purple that feels very smooth to the touch. When using both eye shadows I had no creasing and they both lasted through out the day.

I was really impressed with Surly Girly cosmetics. I felt the cosmetics were on par or even better than department store brands. Another thing to note all Surly Girly products are quality made in the USA. I think we all have the surly girly in us and now have a color to put with that attitude and charm.

These dime sized matte eye shadows are highly pigmented and last all day long with a eye primer. This is a palette for all seasons because it comes complete with neutrals, bright, bold and smokey colors to create a look for any trend of the year. (There are no individual names for the eye shadow colors on any of the palettes)

Urban Decay Alice In Wonderland -Book of shadows (LE)

The little girl inside me screamed with joy when I heard that Urban Decay was coming out with a limited edition Alice In Wonderland pop up Palette. Luckly, Sephora started selling it after the Urban Decay site sold out (in one day). Today it came in the mail and opening it up I knew I would find something very unique that would leave me impressed...I was right! These eyeshadow colors have taken it to the next level and stay very true to color. The texture of the eye shadows are very creamy and easy to blend. The variation of looks that you can create with this palette are endless. If you have never tried Urban Decay Products before this would be a great intro for you newbies.

"Open the palette to reveal a pop-up scene of Alice in the mushroom forest. Her “drink me” bottle discarded, she staggers past towering mushrooms, only to cross paths with a very peculiar, hookah-smoking caterpillar. A large mirror rests behind the scene – you feel as if you are transported into the film itself" ~Urban Decay site. ( I had to steal this description because there was only one way of describing it right!) How cool is that. Its very unique and I have nothing like it.

NARS Laguna vs. E.L.F blush and Bronze

Its almost that time of the year to break out your bronzers and give your face that little sun kissed glow that looks adorable on every skin tone. NARS laguna happens to be one of the best bronzers out there but it also happens to be very expensive too ($32.00) So when I heard E.L.F an affordable cosmetic company was making a contouring blush and bronzing powder for only THREE DOLLARS I wanted to see how it would compare to NARS Laguna. The results might shock you!

They almost look like the same compact! NARS is a softer rubbery matted compact, while the E.L.F compact is just regular plastic.

NARS on the left and E.L.F on the right (its a duo of blush and bronzer but I'm just reviewing the bronzer on the left side of compact).

Here are the swatches of both brands. NARS is the one on top and E.L.F is the one at the bottom. They look almost exactly the same from the swatches but as I blended them out there is a slight difference. The NARS laguna was way easier to blend and build up while the E.L.F Bronzer just stayed in one spot and just needed a lot more work blending out.

Should you buy the E.L.F bronzer? Yes! For $3 you get half a blush and a bronzer what a great deal!!! Just remember to use your brush lightly when picking up product and dont forget to work it in and blend,blend,blend!

As for NARS Laguna, I think every girl should own this bronzer. its def one of my favorites and I will keep repurchasing as long as they make it.

I like the finer things in life but I'm not willing to drop that kind of cash on everything I like. Now a days its easy to find Designer Dupes (duplicates) for a fraction of the cost...thanks to stores like Forever21 and H & M and even Target. Do your research when it comes to fashion...there is nothing more tackier then following a trend to the T. Don't ever walk out of a boutique buying the same outfit as the mannequin on display at the store that is a NO-NO! Instead, try mixing up your Designer brands with your Cheaper brands to create a personal style that no one can duplicate.
